Stevenson Center for Higher Education

Muskegon Community College partners with Ferris State Univeristy, Grand Valley State Univerisity, and Western Michigan University, in Muskegon to offer unique programs allowing occupational students to transfer to a high quality baccalaureate program.

Students interested in attending either of these universities at Muskegon Community College should contact the individual college's office in Room 1106 in the Stevenson Center. Transfer programs may also be available. Contact an MCC counselor for details, or check for Transfer Guides online.


Grand Valley State University

MCC has partnered with GVSU for many years to develop programs which enable the student to easily transfer into a baccalaureate degree program. We can help you get started by providing assistance with degree planning, credit transfer, and enrollment procedures. Muskegon Community College and Grand Valley State University have collaborated to provide a degree completion program at one convenient location. Both institutions offer courses at the Stevenson Center for Higher Education on the campus of Muskegon Community College.

Ferris State University

Ferris has partnered with MCC for many years and have seamless articulation into several programs.  Students are able to enroll for up to three years of classes at MCC before transferring to one of the many Ferris sites, including Grand Rapids or Big Rapids, with some programs/courses offered fully online.  We can help you get started by contacting the Ferris representative at MCC at 231-777-0510 or visit the Stevenson Center for Higher Education on the MCC campus. 
 


Western Michigan University

As a cooperative partnership between MCC and Western Michigan University, WMU offers several transfer program options:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering – Manufacturing
In an effort to help meet the personnel needs of regional manufacturers, the BSE program was developed in partnership with numerous local industries. The curriculum is designed to enhance the skills of current employees as well as prepare students for future employment. Courses are offered in Muskegon and online. Foundation and pre-engineering courses are offered by MCC, and the manufacturing core classes are offered by WMU. Resident faculty are available for advising. Program details

Bachelor of Science in Recreation
The program offers Muskegon Community College students a path to obtain a bachelor’s degree in recreation, once they have completed an Associate of Science and Arts degree. The recreation program focuses on educating students about recreation and leisure leadership, program and service development, delivery and management. The curriculum includes major/minor core courses including specific academic service learning opportunities. In addition, the major includes electives, 225 hours of field experience (practicum) and a 600 hour internship. Program details
